Watchers

I've had a few changes over the past year and a half or so: the death of my best friend, the discovery of high blood pressure, and the discovery of advanced glaucoma. I was kicked off of my pins for a bit, went a little slack in the heart, but I'm back and trying to make marks. If I make anything interesting I'll post it up here. Until then I'll delight in all your creations. Wadda crowd.:)

Fifty-nine and a carpenter, painter and neophyte photographer. I've lived in relative isolation from the artistic community until I discovered DA. I listen to Folk, Blues, Rock, Punk, even some Country. I really like songwriters who bring a sense of story to the song, though its not necessary. I have a big fat old Malamute to drag me around. I live in a broken-down old shack on five acres about seventeen miles outside the nearest town.
And, I will keep trying, because it is the process, not the product, that is the true art. And the fun of it all.

Thanks, Jon. I'm back to work as a carpenter so don't have the energy to be on as much as I'd like. I'm also in the process of moving to medium format film (nothing like going backward as you age.) I bought a Yashika Mat 124-G for $178 and am just trying to figure it out...talk about knobs and dials! I also bought a Mamiya RB67 Pro-S for it's more rectangular format and interchangeable parts - it hasn't arrived yet. Now I'm looking for a good light meter. My hope is that all this will slow me down, make me consider my composition a little more. And medium format cameras are finally in my price range.

You are a brave man using the old medium format cameras. I'd love to see how they turn out. Please post them on dA if you ever get a chance. My gf has a few of cameras that shoot 120. I'm itching the try them out.
